About Us

Brownstone’s Workshop was established out of a keen desire for creating heirloom quality, interesting furniture pieces from scratch….as well as out of necessity. After taking a break from the workforce to be a stay at home mom, I decided to return to school and finish my graduate degree. Then, I found I couldn’t get a job doing anything. Thus, after much soul searching, I decided to do something I’ve always dreamed about doing: creating understated luxury furniture ranging from functional to whimsical. So after receiving a nano inheritance (smaller than a micro), I decided to get to work. I transformed my old crusty garage into a fully stocked, functioning workshop. I don’t solely label it a woodshop because it also incorporates sewing, upholstery as well as in-home upgrades such as shutters, curtains, board and batten and brick veneer wall accents. All of my designs are made from scratch. This means that I come up with an idea, hand sketch it, and create plans that are then manufactured in my garage. My vision begins with the idea of “see a need, fill a need”…..no matter how small or insignificant it may seem to some. I devise my designs, carefully considering every detail to ensure the perfect blend of beauty and function. I personally select each piece of wood and hardware, ensuring that only the best and appropriate woods are used to produce exceptional quality, original pieces.
